You may have arrived here by doing a bit of research on a topic a friend mentioned to you, or a post that crossed your path by chance on social media. By typing “Human Design,” you likely stumbled upon a massive amount of information that was about as understandable as Greek to a non-Greek speaker! Triangles pointing up, others pointing down, lines connecting numbers, arrows pointing left and right, talk of authority, profiles, reflectors, projectors… is this a movie script or what?

Non et pas de panique, je vous explique tout !

The user manual analogy

Many of us are familiar with the tradition of gifting a natal chart or a constellation reading at a child’s birth to discern their personality traits. Human Design is somewhat the “technical cousin” of this practice, with an approach that is, in my view, far more concrete. Imagine that you are born with a unique physical vehicle and energetic engine. Human Design does not seek to tell you who you should be; rather, it finally provides you with the user manual for that vehicle.

It is not a belief system or a future-predicting horoscope, but a map of your internal mechanics, moving a step beyond simple characterology. It illuminates how your energy circulates, how you make accurate decisions, and how you naturally interact with the world.

A synthesis of ancient wisdom and modern science

To understand where this method originates, one must imagine a convergence of two worlds:

Ancestral wisdom

Human Design draws its roots from the I-Ching (or Yi Jing, the Chinese Book of Changes), the Kabbalah, the Hindu Chakra system (offering nine centers instead of the traditional seven), and, of course, astrology.

Contemporary science

It adds a physical dimension, relying on genetics, biochemistry, and quantum physics (notably through the concept of neutrinos, those elementary particles that continuously pass through us).

It is this alliance between ancient intuition and the observation standards of modern science that allows for such a precise reading of our biological and psychological mechanics.

The social noise

It is this alliance between ancient intuition and the observation standards of modern science that allows for such a precise reading of our biological and psychological mechanics.

We are constantly surrounded by well-meaning advice and recommendations from coaching professionals, friends, colleagues, or speakers. While these suggestions are often fueled by a sincere desire to help, they sometimes hit a fundamental barrier: the uniqueness of our own mechanics. When an approach—even an excellent one—is applied without considering our true nature, it can generate resistance or a sense of misalignment.

Why human design is a precious tool?

The challenge is not to reject these external perspectives, but to recognize that no solution can be universal. No one else possesses your energetic signature, and no one can feel or analyze the world exactly as you do.

This is precisely where Human Design takes on its full meaning as the science of differentiation. This is precisely where Human Design takes on its full meaning as the science of differentiation.

Learning to know your design means ceasing to test external strategies or applying models that do not fit you; it means daring a new way of inhabiting your life, more closely linked to your own resources and perspective. Among other things, it allows you to understand:

Your natural strategy

How to act so that life responds with fluidity instead of leaving you exhausted.

Your decision-making authority

Knowing how to trust your immediate intuition (splenic authority), your emotions (emotional authority), or your physical gut feeling (sacral authority), for example, to make the right choices.

Your behavioral trait specifics

Realizing that what you once took for “flaws” or quirks are actually fundamental assets of your nature.

How to retrieve your human design data?

To generate your chart, Human Design does not require specific intuition, but mathematical precision. Everything relies on three fundamental pieces of information: your date of birth, your exact time of birth, and your place of birth.

Why so much precision? Because your chart is calculated based on the position of the planets at the exact moment you began to inhabit your earthly vehicle (two key moments are noted in Human Design: 88 days before your birth, and the day of your birth).

This is what we call your structural layout, or bodygraph. It is a visual map that transforms complex astronomical data into a straightforward, easy-to-read diagram for you, as if you were looking directly at the motherboard of your personal computer.

Here is an example:

Several websites allow you to generate your chart for free:

The reading keys to your bodygraph

Once your bodygraph is generated via online tools, you will see a multitude of geometric shapes and lines. Here are the essential concepts to understand what you are looking at:

Represented by geometric shapes (squares, triangles, diamonds):

  • A center is defined (colored) if it represents a consistent energy you can always rely on;
  • A center is open or undefined (white) if it is a place of reception and learning where you absorb the energy of others.

The gates and channels

Gates are the numbers inside the centers. When a gate at each end of a channel is activated, the channel becomes colored: this creates a powerful energetic link between two centers.

The planets and the incarnation cross

The generation of your bodygraph indicates the position of the planets in specific gates at your birth (remembering the two key moments). As for the Incarnation Cross, it is the structure composed of four major gates in your chart (conscious and unconscious Sun and Earth) which represents your life purpose—what you naturally move toward by following your strategy.

The variables

An advanced level of Human Design, these concern your digestion, your ideal environment, your perspective, and your motivation. It is the fine-tuning that allows you to nourish your physical vehicle in the way that is most correct for you.

From this, we can deduce:

  • Your type (your fundamental energetic mechanics),
  • Your aura (the radiance of your electromagnetic field),
  • Your signature (the emotional state indicating you are in alignment),
  • Your not-self (the signal warning you of a misalignment),
  • Your profile (your archetypal role in life),

An invitation to the experiment

Human Design is not a thought system to be blindly believed; it is a study that only gains value if you experiment with it in your own life (test it and see if it works, and if not, so be it!). My work as a somatic graphic artist is to make your structure visible, to materialize it before your eyes, so that this knowledge does not remain buried in digital files but becomes a visual anchor in your living space. It is an act of self-recognition—an invitation to cease unnecessary efforts and simply become who you already are.

There you have it—you have the introduction. Head over to the home page so I can show you what I do and why it matters.
